This kitchen remodeling project, which included updates to the surrounding spaces, was quite the transformation. Prior to the renovation, there was a very narrow entryway with no natural light. The kitchen was closed off from the living room by a wall, and the back hallway was unused space.Â
The finished product, as you can tell from the photos, is a stark contrast to the initial space. Fulfilling the homeowner’s wishlist throughout the process, here’s how we accomplished this Winston-Salem home renovation:
We opened the wall between the kitchen and living room, allowing these spaces to feel connected and cohesive. We also centered and enlarged the opening between the dining room and kitchen to improve the flow between these two entertaining spaces. We reconfigured the foyer so the entrances between each zone line up perfectly. Additionally, we doubled the size of the dining room window to allow natural light to flood the new foyer area.Â
We maximized the unused hallway space by converting it into a walk-in pantry, enhancing the function of the new kitchen design. We added an in-ceiling vent hood to maximize sight lines to the homeowner’s backyard. The 8-foot sliding window in the kitchen opens directly onto the deck, making entertaining a breeze.Â
The improved layout and refreshing blue color palette paired with the beautiful quartz, wood, and gold design details combine to create a beautiful new cooking, dining, and entertaining space.Â
At ICON Custom Builders, we ensure that the spaces we renovate feel like they have always been a part of the home. We strive to improve the aesthetics and function of each space, while staying true to the home’s character. That’s exactly what we achieved here through this renovation project!
