• Why remodel my home? +

  A home remodel is an opportunity to enjoy your space more without the hassle of relocating. It is a great solution if you love your home’s location and character but crave an update. A renovation may also increase your home’s value. Depending on your specific needs, your remodel may involve only one space, or many spaces.

  We are experienced in every type of remodeling project – including but not limited to basement remodeling, bathroom remodeling, deck, patio and porch remodeling, kitchen remodeling, and mudroom and laundry room remodeling. We also coordinate home additions, new home construction, pool installation and hardscaping. Whatever your dream project may be, our team’s creativity and expertise will bring your project to life.

Over those twenty years, we have built a team of design-build experts with diverse skillsets – architecture, carpentry, interior design, and project management. We are a full-service operation, and manage every phase of your project – from initial planning to the final punch list. We guide you through every decision and every detail, reducing stress and making the renovation process enjoyable and fun.

  We involve our trusted trade partners (electricians, plumbers, cabinet installers, etc.), ensuring the project is streamlined and efficient. No matter the scope of the project, we pride ourselves on high-quality craftsmanship, and client satisfaction for years to come. • How much does a home remodel cost? +

  Many factors contribute to the remodeling cost (how many spaces are within the project scope, the type of spaces involved, and the type of materials required). In general, you can expect to pay less for cosmetic improvements and pay more for projects that involve changing a layout or moving walls. For reference, a kitchen renovation starts at $125k, a home addition starts at $150k, and a typical bathroom remodel cost begins at $65k.

  At ICON Custom Builders, our project minimum is $50k. If you are considering a smaller-scale project like a mudroom or laundry room renovation, we will arrange this in conjunction with another renovation to meet our project minimum. Your Construction Agreement will include a detailed and transparent estimate, so you are aware of the investment up front.

• How long will my home remodel take? +

  Every home renovation project varies in scope and depends on a variety of factors (such as scope, materials, and level of customization). However, you can expect at least a month of planning followed by construction time. Be advised that kitchen and primary bathroom projects require the longest amount of planning time. For reference, a kitchen renovation typically requires 8 weeks of planning and 12-16 weeks of construction. Your project manager will provide a clear timeline after learning about your specific project details.

• What is ICON’s process? +

  We begin every home remodeling project with an initial consultation to discuss your wishlist and goals for the project. If ICON is a good fit, we will create a Planning Agreement that outlines your specific details, and assigns your project manager and interior designer. We will arrange a walkthrough of your space, discuss design elements, and determine an overall investment that reflects your specific goals and product selections. We will then have a site visit with our trade partners and create a Construction Agreement that outlines all project details discussed thus far. Next comes construction.

  Throughout the construction process, your project manager will coordinate all logistics and provide frequent updates. After we have tackled the final punch list and your project is complete, we will conduct a review and gather feedback. • What updates should I include in my home remodel? +

  Every project is unique. The updates you select should reflect what will allow you and your family to enjoy your home more. Kitchen renovations and primary bathroom remodels are two of our most popular requests since these are frequently-used spaces. Other common considerations involve reconfiguring a layout, enlarging rooms, adding storage, improving the lighting, or increasing square footage. Perhaps you desire more space for entertaining, or you crave a dedicated home office, or you need a functional outdoor space for year-round enjoyment.

• Which home improvements will add the most value? +

  Another benefit of home remodeling projects is the return on your investment. Certain updates typically add the most value – installing new appliances or new flooring, adding another bedroom or bathroom, updating cabinetry, or finishing a basement or an attic. Another way to add value is to increase your home’s overall square footage through a home addition or a screened-in porch.

• What can I expect from a new home construction project? +

  When partnering with ICON Custom Builders, you can expect your new home to be highly custom and reflective of your individual tastes and preferences. We approach all our projects with creativity and collaboration, and new home construction is no exception. How long does it take to build a house? After the planning phase, construction typically requires a minimum of 10-16 months. And how much will it cost? Your new home will range between $800k and $3 million, which will be further refined in your Construction Agreement. We look forward to designing your custom dream home.
