Reynolds Porch

These homeowners had a beautiful backyard in Buena Vista, but lacked covered areas and a fireplace. They reached out to us to reimagine their outdoor living space, with the goal to be able to enjoy the space during the cooler months. 

We worked with their wishlist to thoughtfully design a covered porch that provided protection from the elements, but still remained open. To comfortably enjoy the porch throughout the year, we incorporated flush mounted ceiling heating units. This solution involved a unique infrared heating system that warms up people, but doesn’t affect furniture, surfaces, or other objects – making it safe and effective. This system, along with a gas fireplace, allows this outdoor space to be used even as temperatures start to drop. The ceiling fan combined with the shade provided from the roof make the porch enjoyable in the summer heat. 

Our in-house designer Katherine Yeager selected beautiful details, ensuring the remodeled design remained true to the home’s character and Buena Vista charm. We created multiple sitting areas on the porch – a space for relaxing and reading by the fireplace, and a space for enjoying a meal at the dining table. In addition, there is a lounge chair and another sitting area out on the patio, surrounded by lush trees and plants. 

After this transformation, our hope is that these Winston-Salem homeowners will enjoy their new outdoor porch and patio frequently, and in every season!
