The focal point of the bathroom remodel is the shower area that fills the entire back wall. A traditional shower is on the right, while the steam shower along with its many customizable features is on the left, and they are accessible via separate doors. Even though the individual units are not very large, they feel more spacious thanks to glass paneling between the two units, as opposed to traditional drywall.
For this project, our interior designer Katherine dreamed up a custom vanity and linen closet, and our master craftsman Don built them. The cabinet style feels contemporary, but the wood staining offers a more traditional finish, blending the homeowners’ two styles beautifully. The quartz countertops have warm tones that tie in nicely with the warm-veined shower tile selection. The linen closet provides additional storage, and conveniently hides the toilet to offer privacy.
You will notice that every design element is square or angular, celebrating clean lines. We opted for a vertical sconce between the two LED backlit mirrors to provide additional lighting. The chrome plumbing fixtures throughout provide a shiny, polished look. Finally, the light gray “rock candy” wall color with a slight blue undertone adds to the spa-like feel of the space.
With this contemporary primary bathroom transformation, these homeowners don’t have to travel far to experience the luxuries of a high-end hotel. All of these amenities are now available right in their own home, and their daily routines begin and end in serenity.
