A classic 1930 Buena Vista home has been renovated, yet retains its original style and layout. The ICON Builders/Cabinet Studio remodel involved opening up the rear of the house and creating an open kitchen and living space. The 2nd story addition above this area allowed creation of a guest bath, laundry and master suite. The central stairs were modified to access this new area. Care was taken to keep the front of the home original, and the old original wide windows were reinstalled in the kitchen area to maintain a consistent look downstairs. A screened porch allows enjoyment of the beautiful rear yard. This home remains timeless, and will provide another generation of enjoyment.
“We originally hired Chuck Hicks and Icon Builders based on the recommendation of neighbors who were very pleased with their kitchen redo. Price and quality were the overriding concerns. Our remodel was extensive and consisted of a plan to reclaim our two story foyer space and make it into a bedroom extension, two major bathroom remodels (with a third partial remodel), and myriad of other projects that cropped up along the way. It became evident quickly that we had chosen the right contractor. Trust and frequent communication are key with remodeling projects in which at least one thousand and one decisions have to be made and we had that type of relationship with Chuck Hicks. During the project we felt that we could communicate with him at any time. Chuck was very responsive with his "can do" and "make it right" attitude, and inspired great confidence. We are very pleased with the results and the highest compliment we can pay is to recommend Chuck and ICON without reservation. Further, as we embark upon the final frontier of our home remodeling (kitchen and sunroom addition coming soon!), we plan to use Chuck and Icon once again. ”
